The 21st century has been termed the Century of Ageing. Why? Because by 2050 more than 1 in 5 of the world’s population will be over 60. For the first time in history, there will be more of us over 60 than there will be children under 15.
Experts calculate that even by 2040, the over 60 population will more than treble to two billion. Add in the Over 50s and that makes an awful lot of us in our Third Age!
Little wonder then that the 21st century has been dubbed the Century of Ageing!
