The British Heart Foundation is encouraging everyone, particularly the Over 55s, to check their pulse for irregularities.
According to the BHF, an irregular pulse could be a sign of Atrial Fibrillation or AF.
AF, a major cause of stroke, is an abnormal heart rhythym. Apparently around 800,000 people (roughly one in 100) in the UK have it, and most are aged 55 and over.
