As anyone who visits this site regularly will know, last week I travelled to Launceston in Cornwall to view a potential lifestyle business for sale via a friend of ours, business transfer agent Wendy Jones of Adams & Co in Plymouth.

The proposition in question is the site of a former specialist rose nursery situated in a scenic rural location a couple of miles outside Launceston. The land is a little overgrown due to a lack of attention by its current owners, but Wendy kindly introduced me to the gentleman who originally established what was a highly successful rose nursery in its time before he retired and sold it to the vendors who have, if you’ll excuse the pun, let it go to seed!

It struck me that with a lot of effort and a little imagination, this property could be turned into a very handsome lifestyle business for some enterprising Third Ager. It may not make them a fortune, but it could certainly turn a profit at the same time as providing a very nice way of life.
