Two years ago (time does fly!) we were in Ireland and developed a liking for Irish Soda Bread. Jill now makes at least one a week.

Civilisation is a veneer, easily soluble in alcohol. http://cidermannz.blogspot.com/

Yes, you're right Doreen. I have used the flour to make baguettes and they are lovely but I don't have the right tins. When I made baguettes recently I had to use tinfoil to stop the dough from spreading. So this time I cheated and put the mix in a tin. I have to say it was very crispy and much easier to make than the baguettes.Smile

Tell Jill she makes a lovely looking loaf. I have to say I've never tried soda bread and I don't know what the difference is. I will Google it and see what the ingredients are.

I just Googled it and found this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Soda_bread. I have to say Wikipedia does have some good explanations. I like the idea that the Irish put the cross in the soda bread to let the fairies out.Laugh
