I have to confess I was going to give up all chat Forums and concentrate on other Internet activities,

Christmas is for me a family time. There are a lot of us and I love then all.

Christmas has lost it's religion and is now only a time for businesses making money.

So that was that and then today I received a New Year Card from “June / daisy2b”.

Cider I am sure you know her,

She was a very old Forum friend and  I hadn't heard from her for a very, very, long time.

She  used to print recipes which I enjoyed.

I was so surprised on this New Year Day that I wrote back to her and thought

that if she answers my mail I shall take a second thought about forums,

I have this afternoon  received an answer to  my mail a lovely long chatty letter-

So here I am back  and myself surprised as I should be in the kitchen clearing up.Laugh

I think the thing is with forums, Doreen, jettison the one's that cause strife and stick to the ones where people can disagree but not be personal about it.

True Michael but I would like a little more discussion and global chat.

I read in my Swiss Newspapers about the flooding in Australia.

They say that an area bigger than Germany and France on the Sunshine coast is flooded and worse is to come.

What a pity that we have no posters from that area who could tell us about the situation.

Then there is the trouble in Egypt between Muslims and Christians, religion once again.

We live in a troubled world but of course we can't change it but perhaps if we understand the situation

Or is it me that expects too much from a Forum.?

The Australian floods are indeed, a sad situation. I have a tenuous connection to Rockhampton . My first 'OE' was to Australia and I well remember Rockhampton and some great kindnesses to us in that town.

Lovely to see you're well Doreen.Laugh

They say the floods in Australia are a 1 in 100 year event and they don't expect it to happen for another 100 years. That's not a lot of help to the people who are flooded. I saw on the news today they were air lifting food into Rockhampton.

I have to say the weather is doing strange things. Everyone is getting the worst this and the worst that. Is the weather just going to get more unpredictable?Frown
