I'm having my flu jab tomorrow. I've never had one before and I'm hoping I feel fine. My mum and dad have it every year and they don't have any side affects, but my sister had it and felt quite ill. I did not know I was in a category that should have the flu jab – nobody told me. I only found out when I was chatting to the nurse at my doctors when I was having my bloods done and she phoned someone and she told me because of the medication I was on it was recommended. Wish me luck.Cry

Yes, the flu jab can have a side effect on some people. On the positive side, this is nowhere near as bad as catching the H1N1 virus. Both my wife and I are now in the age group that qualifies us for a free jab, and last winter we decided to accept. Neither of us had a reaction and neither of us caught the flu.

Ann Marie, I think it to be a worthwhile risk.
