Well here's your chance to select an iron that suits your temperament!

And every door in the museum is held open with a flatiron. I think the early settlers were obsessed with ironing.

And here's where I am spending rather a lot of my time lately. We part timers are covering for our poor curator who'se husband suddenly and unexpectedly died on Tuesday.

My nan always used an iron for a door stop. It was one of those irons you heat up on the range – a flat iron. I don't do any ironing, my husband does it all. But I like old things. I have my nan's old hand-powered Singer sewing machine.Laugh

How very sad. Your Curator will need time to recover from the shock.

She is lucky having you part timers to look after the museum.

Sorry to hear the sad news. Your curator is lucky to have you.

The trees outside the museum look lovely in blossom. I have to say the things in the museum look very interesting. I like the toy cars. Are they Matchbox or do you in New Zealand have different ones?

I think they are 'Matchbox' Annmarie. There's hundreds of them in a case, I don't even know where they came from but someone will.

I thought they were Matchbox. From the photo you could see it was a good collection. Nowadays there are a lot of collectors of them and in pristine order with their boxes some can go for a lot of money. I suppose most little boys liked playing with them and they got broken.Cry
