Is my morning different to yours?
I woke early and it was pitch black outside, so I decided to wait a while before getting up
Now of couse I am late. I can't find my shoes, I am still coughing and my Mouse is having spasms!!
I haven't had breakfast, I haven't read the newspapers, but when I look through the window
it is beautiful. It has snowed all night. It is whiter than white.
I wonder on this Monday morning how many people couldn't /can't get to work.
How many people have wrecked their car this morning.
And the weather does what it wants, when it wants and how it wants.
I must stop for a few minutes and think………..

We have a very heavy frost here. I did not want to get out of bed it was so cosy. It said on the news that it had not snowed in November in the UK since 1965. We were talking about the snow and I have to say I don't ever remember it snowing before Christmas. You are right Doreen, the weather does what it wants when it wants. Still, it's a lovely day for a walk in the country and that's just what we'll be doing later on.

Doreen, I sympathise with your mouse, the only person who runs their hands over me then left and right clicks is my physiotherapist.

21 degrees C here. Doesn't seem to be any snow outside.

No, here too no snow this morning.
The south wind is blowing and melted it all filling the rivers and lakes and flooding.
but tomorrow winter will return with its Minus 10°C.
So that's, that.

The only good thing I can think of with this cold weather is it might help the trees. It might kill some of the bugs and give the trees some time to recover. Let's hope.

We have had several days of the most welcome weather imaginable. This year we have experienced a very long, dry spring, so dry in fact many farmers were in drought conditions. Well the last few days have been perfect for them: very steady, very warm rain, then a short break, and then it's all on again. We have these conditions forecast to remain until Christmas day and it is working wonders for dry, parched soil. I have long held the opinion that this kind of weather is the eighth wonder of the world, you can see and hear grass grow, just what farm animals needed the most.
The down side for us humans is that is very humid. It's takes very little work to break out in perspiration and sleeping is also quite difficult due to the nighttime warmth. The after dark temperature doesn't go much below 20 degrees, and with the humidity just lying on the bed is an effort.
Even as I type it pouring hard and for that I can end my post with a big …

I am approximately 37 kilometres from Robin and I can, indeed , vouch for the rain! Most useful.

I am told that in the UK last night, the temperature could drop to – 15 anywhere. The coldest night I have experienced here in New Zealand is -7, and as usual that was followed by a lovely sunny winter's day.
I still don't do snow. When it starts to snow in Hawke's Bay, and it lays, my wife and I will move north. Let's face it, warmth holds far more appeal. I want nothing to drop off because of the cold.

You wrote about the humidity and too warm to sleep.
Me, I try and get to bed about midnight, then 2 minutes under the duvet and I am asleep until 7 next morning.
Out of bed and or course it is bitter cold but a hot cup of tea and buttered toast,
dressed in a thick warm pullover and a silk scarf round my neck.
It is winter and soon it will be spring.

Doreen, compared to where you live our winters are very mild. Michael will assure you I am not joking, we have many hardy souls who go through the winter wearing shorts. I don't possess a heavy coat, in the colder months I wear a jumper and a very light nylon water proof coat (the fold up type) for when its raining.
Over the years you have become accustomed to the trials of a hard winter, in all truth I don't believe my system could handle such extremes of cold that you do. I believe the same would be said in reverse, you would probably take a while to get used to a summer when the temperature in the high twenties is normal.
This year is unusual: we normally get high humidity only on very odd occasions, but this beautiful rain over the past seven or eight days has really pushed humidity through the roof. It's a small price to pay and there are a lot of very happy people around because on the current wet weather. I might add my veggie garden has gone somewhat berserk, we can damn near watch the plants growing.

Of course you are right Robin and…
it is 5 minutes to midnight,
Cinderella must go to bed and fall asleep before the clock chimes.
Enjoy your day.

I am up bright and beautiful. BUT !!!!!!!!
The weather has changed, it is 1°C and the snow and ice is melting.
It wont be a white Christmas. BUT
the snow will come again, the weather is playing games with us.
Annmarie, stay in bed I saw on my weather station that you have temperatures of MINUS 10°C
and down in Napier your humidity is 65% and perhaps rain for Christmas.
My computer with the world weather station keeps me informed.
I can only add “Big brother is watching you.”
PS. I have a busy day and today is only 6 seconds shorter.

Our forecast is for 29 degrees tomorrow and I am not looking forward to it. There is a very heavy rain band heading our way and that will make a lot of people extremely happy.

Well we have snow again and I think it's going to snow for about 4-5 hours. It is really cold and I'm wearing all my clothes. I have thermal socks on but my feet are still cold. I think the only thing that will warm my feet up is a hot bath after my walk later. Our road is still covered in snow. We don't get gritters down our road. I can't see me getting to my parents before Christmas. It's been madness on the roads. They will have to have their presents after Christmas. If I get out to the shops I'm going to get myself a balaclava. I love going for our walks but I need something to keep my face warm. Yesterday when we got back from our walk I could not feel my nose.
I'm glad you have some rain in New Zealand. The farmers needed it.
