Please feel free to use today 12th November as an excuse as it's Canterbury Province's anniversary day.

I have not heard of this before. Is it a celebration of your founders?

It's the anniversary of Canterbury Province. Each province has it own anniversary day, Its a public holiday but only in that province.

I think that's a great idea. Do you put flags up and have street parties?

No but it's often the day chosen for the local A & P Show(Agricultural & Pastoral) usually runs over 3 days. That's always fun.

He Cider I hope you wont go off without waving goodbye.
I will put a barbed wire cushion on your chair so that nobody can sit on it.
Enjoy yourself but behave, if possible.

Need a holiday? This is a sight not seen too often: this is sunset at 40,000 feet, taken in mid Tasman on the way to Australia. I have to confess I am rather pleased with this picture.

Sounds great. I have not been to an agricultural show in a long time but they are fun. I love all the animals and the other things that go on. At our shows they have local food, cheeses, etc at the shows.
