Norman Wisdom passed away on Monday 4th October at the age of 95. He will be sorely missed. They don't make them like that any more. I loved his films. They were harmless fun. He could do everything – act, sing and write songs. This is one of my favourite pieces – Bruce and Norman London Palladium.

Ann-marie, I can remember the actual show, Sunday Night at the London Palladium was the highlight of Sunday evening's viewing. That particular show was very unusual: normally there would be three or four guests during each show, but such was Norman's popularity, he and Bruce did the entire show by themselves. At the end of the show it was customary for all the cast (including the dance troop (The Television Toppers) to mount a giant revolving podium, and wave goodbye to the audience and viewers. At the end of that show there was only Bruce and Norman, and they were lying on the podium absolutely worn out after giving a solid hour of the best British television had to offer. Needless to say they received a standing ovation and the write ups in the following day's papers lauded the show.
Happy memories … that is until I remember how many years ago it actually took place.
You're right, 'ME'. It was a long time ago. I never saw it the first time around. I was not even a little twinkle in my dad's eye in 1961 when this was filmed.

Thank you Ann-marie, I have just worked out from your calculations I was eighteen years old at the time. And to think you hadn't even been born then … Hey, what are you doing on a site for senior citizens?
