It’s October and it isn’t fair.

You two buddies down there could if you weren’t so  lazy

be planning, planting and growing your own vegetables.

Me, I  mean me and not him, sorting out my winter woollies

checking that I have two of everything for the next 5 Months.

I wish I could hibernate.  Cry

I'm with you Doreen. We had our first frost this morning. Winter is here. I had to wear my wellies when we went for our walk. The only good thing was that the sun was out so I didn't need a scarf and gloves. We are going to put the garden to bed for the winter this weekend.Frown

Please contain your self girls, I will be spending the rest of the week preparing and planting my veggie patch. Last evening, at 6:00PM, it was reading 31 degrees in our bedroom, we had to put the air conditioning on to cool down.

This post is only to make you lot feel guilty for basking in sunshine whilst we were experiencing winter. I can write without confusion the foot is now firmly on the other shoe. Embarassed

I can't believe you're rubbing salt in to the wound, 'ME'. It's cold here but the sun is out. In Scotland they have snow on the hills. I think we are going to get a hard winter this year.Cry

In believe we could be in for a very hard summer, you have no idea what it's like to have to contend with all that heat. You will no doubt be delighted to read we have a lovely in-ground swimming pool to cool the body when the temperature gets a little out of hand.

I really envy you the cooler weather … now my nose will grow. Laugh

Well we had -2 last night, but the sun is out now. It's meant to get colder tonight but warming up later on this week, but you can't trust what they say. Stop rubbing it in 'ME'. Swimming pool, it's most probably a little plastic paddling pool.Laugh

Well it's freezing here today – winter has well and truly arrived. The wind is very high too. I don't think there will be any leaves left on our trees after today. Tomorrow is meant to be a nice day so I will do the shopping. It's meant to get really bad after that - cold, rain and wind, but fortunately the weather forecasters have not mentioned snow yet. Roll on spring.Laugh

Winter has its advantages, I am glad that I don't  live on the equator.

I have made a big pile of twigs and leaves outside, a winter residence for all the small animals.

Time inside to read, to learn and do things. To light a candle and just sit and dream.

At the moment I am working on my Orchidarium and learning about orchids and their needs.

In a few weeks it will be the shortest day and then upwards again searching garden magazines for new or old plants.Laugh

You are right it, does have its advantages. I have quite a few jobs to do. More sewing for my sister, I don't need to feel guilty because it's too horrible to get outside. I have to say we have had a lovely day today, not a cloud in the sky but it is cold.Laugh
