Today I'm trying to connect our new DVD/Video recorder. My DVD player has not been working properly for months and my video recorder keeps messing up the first hour or so of my video tapes. It's really annoying. They are both only about 2 years old, they might not even be that. In the UK warranties only last 1 year. Nothing lasts as long as it used to. Anyway, I digress. I've got the new DVD/Video in place but I still have the old ones plugged in. I have read the instructions. Well, they're okay if you just want to plug it into your TV, but it does not tell you how to plug it in if you have a SKY box. Well wish me luck. Just hope I don't blow something up. If you hear on the world news that the power is off all over Wiltshire, I did it.Laugh

It's been on our news the power is off in many places in the UK, surely you are not the one responsible??? The news said it was due to the weight of snow on the power cables, I promise not to tell them it was really you.

I must make a note in my diary, Ann Marie … vandal. Laugh

It was not me. We still have power. We have had some snow – everything is looking white but there is not enough to make a snowman. I'm hoping we will get some more. We have just had a walk around the green. It is lovely but there is a real bite in the wind. Petal and Rosie are okay. I have not finished setting up my new DVD/Video recorder. I'm going to try to record something to see if I have it all working.Laugh

It works. I recorded the Thursday night game (American Football). It took me a while to get the picture the right size on the TV but once I did that it was plain sailing. I recorded the game straight onto a dvd and when you have watched it you just format the dvd and you can record something else. The dvd recorder does have a memory and you can record straight to that but I have not tried that yet. And I can now record all my videos onto dvd which is brilliant. The dvds will take up less space. I can edit the videos and only keep what I want. All fun and games.Laugh

Ann Marie, I recently read of someone who had found the perfect way of getting their own back on television networks for putting out rubbish programmes. He reported he records them on a machine such as you have mentioned, then plays the programme back whilst he's out. Wink

A kind of silent protest. Smile

Thanks Doreen.Kiss But I'm not clever. I have to say I don't look forward to setting these things up but nowadays once you work out which cable goes were the rest does itself. In the old days you had to tune each channel in one at a time, but now the devices do it for you.Laugh
