Whilst enjoying my coffee I watched this “Sir Terry Wogan “  ? Internet Master course.

It was pleasant and cheerful.

I noticed that on their computer he was using Google and not IE. search program!

He said you can't break it.      Ask for help when you can't do it

And his little bit about – - “Find something about me that I don't know.”

Sorry but most beginners that I have helped in the past see these things as done by Valerie Singleton and now Wogan as patronising and they end up being more confused than before.

Note: Google is a search engine not a web browser , IE is a web browser and not a search engine.

I don't know if it's just me but all the oldies I know are really quite comfortable with a computer. When I'm working in the museum, I often get elderly people in and  to their questions I can usually refer them to a website for further information. It's very rare that someone says that they don't have a computer.
