ThirdAge.co.uk is a website designed by Third Agers, for Third Agers - those of us who are in the region of 50 and upwards.

For those of us in our Third Age, we know how difficult it is to find information written with us and our particular needs in mind. All too many sites say they cater for the over 50s, but have generic content which is more relevant to a younger audience.

At ThirdAge.co.uk we are different. We know what it’s like to be over 50. We appreciate its many benefits and its difficulties. So our mission is to deliver content that is relevant to fellow Third Agers. People like us. People like you!

We aim to provide information that is interesting, entertaining, informative and motivational. To inspire fellow Third Agers with the potential for success in our Third Age and to make people like us aware of the tremendous opportunities for both business and pleasure in our later years.

If you would like to assist us in our aim to establish the Third Age website as the dominant market force in this demographic and to maximise your own position within this market, and you have a service or product you feel would enhance the lives of our visitors, please do not hesitate to contact us.

If you have achieved success in your Third Age and would like us to feature your story to help inspire other Third Agers, we would love to hear from you.

Likewise, if you have a suggestion for future features, or if you would like to write for us either on a regular basis or by contributing a single article, please contact us.

Would probably be good if after signing on  – i just did so – there was some more obvious guidance on how to use the forums, i.e. where and how to post. Notice lots of people  have signed on and not proceeded further. Some of us are so ancient, we did not grow up with computers…..Wink

P.S.  Help, how do I send this ???

Hello Jennybee. Welcome to Thirdage.

I'm sorry you had problems working out how to post and get to the forum. There are no hard and fast rules for where to post but if it's something general it usually goes in the Bistro, and if it's a photo it goes in Photography, etc. We have various other subjects and if you have any questions you can put them in Feedback.

There are two ways of posting. You can add a new subject or join in on an existing thread. To add a new thread go to say Bistro and press 'Add a New Topic'. You will find this to the left of the Bistro title. And to add to an existing topic, click on the topic you're interested in and press 'Reply to Post'. You will find this link at the top and at the bottom of the posts in that topic. If it's a direct reply to something someone has written, you can click on 'Quote and Reply' and that will put the text from the other person in and you can write your reply under their text. When you have writen your post just press 'Save New Post' and it's done. You can also edit your post if you need to after you have posted by pressing 'Edit your Post'. The only other thing you'll notice is the requirement for a simple sum which is to stop robots posting.

If you have any more questions or need any help please don't hesitate to ask.Laugh

Hi Jennybee! I'm one of the South Pacific members. Like 'Me', I inhabit Aotearoa, or as you will know it as New Zealand.  I've been a bit absent lately partly because everytime I clicked on this forum there were no little red makers for new posts and partly because I've been turning my daughter's garage into a posh photographic studio. The reason for the lack of red markers was that in my haste, I hadn't noticed that I wasn't logged in!  It seems that you automatically log out after a finite time- not sure how long that is , but I'll remember next time to check the log in box!Embarassed

Michael, I have to say the same thing happened to Me. I was checking the site on a daily basis and seeing no red flags I went on my merry way. After a week I too noticed some rascal had clocked me out without so much as a by your leave.

I thought it may have been something I said. Laugh

Hi Jenny Bee, are you a honey bee? My wife often calls Me a little bee. Wink You should get on very well with Doreen, as she makes honey.

Tis Me.

Honey, that is my little red flag……..

Our bees are all dead, they just couldn't manage  this last cold winter.

But… we will start again and I still have a few pots in the cupboard from last year.

Honey keeps for ever.

I have a busy morning as I am cooking lunch for 6.

Lasagne. I made the Pasta yesterday and  a Panna Cotta for desert

It is almost an Italian meal

PS Who is Jenny Bee ???????????

Has she lost herYell little Red Flag.

P.PS  To save this post there is no sum.  Has it too lost it's flag.

I think I shall start knitting lots of little red Flags.

I'm sorry to hear about your honey bees Doreen. Hopefully you can get it all up and running again. I have to log into Thirdage.co.uk every time I put my computer on or if I close Internet Explorer. As far as I know if you don't turn your computer off and don't close your browser window you will stay logged in forever. We will have to have an investigation in to where the red flags are going. You know that if you're not logged in you can see the most recent posts at the bottom of the main forum page.Laugh
