A little over two years ago we moved from 6 acres up a hill to down on the flat , within walking distance to town.  This decision was brought to a head when Jill found the ram and I lying on the ground panting! We had fought to a draw! It was a fair fight! He was 85 kilos and so was I, but he had four wheel drive and a really hard head! We always planned to move, or to 'downscale' , as we called it, when the kids had grown up and flown the nest. We moved to a similar sized house but without the workload of stock, fruit trees, hazelnut trees and chickens.

The 'new' house is about the same size, but was built about 1920 and moved 70 kilometres about 5 years ago, onto it's present site. (Yes we do that quite frequently here. If you get up early in the morning, sometimes you will see half a house on a giant truck with the rest of the house a couple of km behind). Because they shift it, the opportunity to insulate and install mod con type kitchens and bathrooms is available. We have an interesting feature of a walk in wardrobe , which, if you keep walking emerges on a patio varandah just above the garden. An excellent spot for breakfast or morning coffee in the early morning sun. We call it “Narnia” for obvious reasons!

Now! How do I do pics on here? I'll have a fiddle.

Hi Ciderman and a warm welcomeLaugh

If you are trying to add a photo to your profile, (a small 50×50 image so people can see what you look like):

Click on 'Profile' (top right-hand corner next to 'Logout' and 'Members')

Once in Profile you can upload a photograph from your computer (you just need to know where the photo is stored on your pc)

If you want to place an image in a post, you first reply to a post and then when you're in that pane you will see a little button with a tree in it. Click on that and you will be able to add your photo.

Hope that helps! Gerald

Hi Ciderman. Indeed it is. You were on the right lines when you tried previously. I've seen them myself. If you have any problems let me know and I'll add them in for you. Yours, Green with EnvySurprised

No nasty spiders Doreen, they're all in Australia along with the snakes. Earthquakes? theres only 14,000 a year and you can only feel about 200, (  http://www.geonet.org.nz/earth…..uakes.html  ) if your close.

Temperatures Graham? It'll probably make 27 0r 28 today, but we live in the “Roaring Forties” , beloved of ancient sailors, so weather can change very rapidly. In February we'll probably make 30-35 on a regular basis. In July highs of 10 and. if theres no wind overnight frosts of -8.
