Please do join in. We need more numbers. A kind of “critical mass” is important to gain a cross section of opinions.

Anyone who joins in in the next 4 days, (while I am away!) will be entitled to a weeks free accomodation in Waipawa, New Zealand.

(Conditions apply . Air fare not included!Laugh)

What an offer and Cider really means this and  you would  be spoilt to bits.Smile

Perhaps “Me” would offer a second week and then think of the stories you could write when you returned home.

It is important that some  new members write as it would be interesting reading what others think and so much is happening in the world.

Is it Me?

When I look at the splendid way this site is laid out, especially with all the serious topics, I have a certain trepidation as I can offer nothing or very little to the original idea behind the boards. The informative threads are very poorly patronised whilst the informal, sometimes frivolous side of the Bistro thread has new posts virtually every day.

Now I am beginning to get a conscience over this as I feel I am detracting from the more thoughtful side of this site's intentions. Am I alone with this trepidation, or should I shelve such thoughts and carry on being Me?

Perhaps I became to used to the sometimes lighthearted side of the now closed site, and I am simply having problems adjusting. Perhaps (but heaven forbid) I am missing Basil, if so I will seek immediate medical advice. Cry

Your thoughts?

Tis Me.

Just be yourself is all I can say. There is certainly no ban on being light hearted and it is sometimes difficult to say very much on the more informative threads.

Pictures are always welcome, life experiences, hobbies, inspirational material to Third Agers etc.

The Bistro has become very popular and was included at the request of Doreen, so, well done Doreen. I'm sure if anyone were to suggest other suitable forums Admin would listen.

I think the trouble lies in my age: at 67 I am not yet ready for the third age I am still enjoying a second childhood. Embarassed

It's probably down to the weather, but there is so much to do and life is so full of promise. It was once said that when retired you will wonder how you ever found the time to go to work. Well never a truer word was spoken. Our weather can be blamed as just like Australia, on the whole it is very acceptable all year round, therefore outdoor activities aren't put on hold over the winter. I do appreciate in the UK you have experienced one of the worst winters for many, many years.

Promised high of 26 degrees today, I am off to play golf and improve on my suntan. Smile

I think you misunderstand Third Age Robin. What you are doing is precisely what people in Third Age, and you are, should be doing.

That is the whole point of the web site, to encourage people over 50 to look upon age as a number and the future as inspirational and just as full of opportunity as the previous ages.

26C eh? You make me sick!.Cool

Dear me or should I say Dear Me !

I saw a robin in my garden today and I thought of you and smiled. Smile

Now I am thinking about you and your small Island and those big waves.

You are nearer to Chile than Australia. (I think) Confused

I would so like to write something sensible, something interesting.Surprised

I am a Newspaper reader and read “on-Line” 4 newspapers.

…and what does that do for me…makes me blinking miserable…Frown

so then I retire to the fridge and start nibbling.Cool

Graham! What about a forum for sea shell collectors. I have a fine collection! You may have seen some of them- I keep them on various beaches around the world. Or perhaps beetroot collecting? No ? Perhaps not.

I think the ratio of sea shell collectors who would find us is quite small! Now beetroot collectors is another thing.Cool
