I had a walk around the green earlier. It was still snowing but there is not much snow on the ground, just a very thin cover. Petal and Rosie were glad to see us. Petal has her winter coat on. Rosie looked a bit soggy. Rosie broke her collar and went though the electric fence last night and got back in with Petal. She drank all Petal's milk - no wonder she is looking so fat.Laugh

You would love Rosie, Doreen. She is so friendly and her coat is very soft and fluffy. I hope they're not going to eat her one day.Cry

It may happen, farmers have to earn money, but it is sad.  I understand the people who don't eat meat.

I like any milk products, especially cheese.

I have made 6 small pots of yogurt today as I like one for breakfast.

I only make plain yogurt with skimmed milk but it sets solid and I eat it with a spoon.

My wife and I are not really dessert eaters, by far proffering cheese and biscuits. However, when we do have fresh fruit it is always served prepared – cut up into bite-sized pieces – then served with natural plain yogurt. This is far better for you than cream or custard, in fact the two items in company make for a really healthy dish.

I have been trying to think (in my case a dangerous occupation) of the last time I ate custard. As a child it was a regular dish on the table but now … never. Likewise with rice pudding, tapioca, sago and semolina. Have all these desserts now been consigned to the bottom drawer?

I have to say in the summer I love yogurt and fruit. I like it as a breakfast or a dessert and with some seeded bread for lunch. But when it gets cold I love the old fashioned desserts like spotted dick and syrup pudding and you have to have custard. I love rice pudding and Petal's milk is the best.Laugh But I've never liked tapioca, sago or semolina.

Tapioca, as a kid it was always called frog's spawn. Smile

We called tapioca frog spawn too. Just the look of it put me off eating it.Embarassed
