SmileWishing you all a very Happy New Year 2010….may health and happiness be yours….

Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbour. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.”~ Mark Twain,

We have company staying with us for the next four days so I won't be on the PC. I also wish to echo the words above and wish everyone a very happy New Year.

2009 held both happy times and a couple of occasions when things could have been better, but that must be put behind us and we look forward to whatever the New Year has in store … “Bring it on.”

My very best wishes to all on the forums for 2010.

2009 has been a tough one for many reasons but we look forward with optimism.

I am heartened to see people from all corners of the world here on Third Age and hope we enjoy some fruitful exchanges in the New Year.

Happy New Year from the wilds of the Yorkshire Moors!Smile

Today is a mixed emotion day….we have had our second born son and his partner staying over the Christmas period….but this afternoon we will be saying goodbye to them…they live and work in the States ,so if you can think on us all later on today,I hate these goodbyesCrybut they have to go back.

Tomorrow I shall be in a depression,it always happens ,however all I can think is that is the life he wants and that is all we parents need to know isn't it???…..

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood, And sorry I could not travel both And be one traveler, long I stood And looked down one as far as I could To where it bent in the undergrowth; Then took the other, as just as fair, And having perhaps the better claim, Because it was grassy and wanted wear; Though as for that the passing there Had worn them really about the same, And both that morning equally lay In leaves no step had trodden black. Oh, I kept the first for another day! Yet knowing how way leads on to way, I doubted if I should ever come back. I shall be telling this with a sigh Somewhere ages and ages hence: Two roads diverged in a wood, and I– I took the one less traveled by, And that has made all the difference.

Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbour. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.”~ Mark Twain,

I know how you feel Maureen.  My daughter and her husband moved down to Melbourne just over a year ago and although she has visited here a few time and my other daughter and I stayed with them over Christmas, it was still hard to wave goodbye to them on the occasions when they or I left to go home again.

Thinking of all those separated from their loved ones, either by a short or long distance, may you find comfort in knowing they are happy.

Happy New Year to you all. I hope 2010 brings you happiness.

Happiness to you all.  I'm dreading it really, but shall have to try to shape something out of it for the future.
