I'm delighted to have been asked to write for this web site. The last couple of months have been a joy, working with an administrator who knows what he's about and what he wants.
Thank you to all my forum followers who have come to Third Age, including some “blasts from the past”.
I wish you all a Happy Christmas, and may 2010 bring us all peace, prosperity, a few laughs, and the health to enjoy them.

The seasons greetings to all of you. You will no doubt be pleased to hear that the weather forecast is for sunshine all over the Day and the following weekend.
I will check out the festivities as Hazel, Me and I shall get there first.
I'm glad that things are to your liking Graham, in the new set up, may your pen flow mightily and the gift of the gab never desert you!

Can I echo the sentiments above.
We have had another foot of snow overnight but it's milder now and the fog has come down!!!
I hope you upside downers are enjoying your sunshine and barbies . I'm praying the main roads stay clear so I can play Santa in the morning, but if not, he may be slightly delayed.
A very Merry Christmas to each and every one of you. 2009 has been a difficult year for many people and I hope that 2010 is much better. On the whole, we are very lucky and I, for one, appreciate all we have, but above all we're lucky to have wonderful friends and family.
All the best.
Love
Mags

Santa hasn't been here I must have been very naughty over the past year. Anyway – who wants chocolates and sweeties at this time of year?
I awoke at about 3am and felt a desperate need to start sorting out cupboards, so that's what I've been doing. A saying of my mother's came into my head “the better the day, the better the deed” so I'm sure that I've done a brilliant job. I now want to start doing some washing, but I think I'd better leave that until tomorrow.
No more snow here. A thaw started yesterday but it seems that Jack Frost has visited overnight and the roads again seem to be treacherous.
I hope that all of you get what you want and have a wonderful day

Good job you said that it was very close to Michael. Hastings to me obviously means that place very close to Brighton in the UK and I thought that I could get a train down there …..
Hope you have had a good Christmas, Mouse, with your family and that they have kept you well supplied with that juniper liquid.

The bells of waiting Advent ring, The Tortoise stove is lit again And lamp-oil light across the night Has caught the streaks of winter rain. In many a stained-glass window sheen From Crimson Lake to Hooker's Green. The holly in the windy hedge And round the Manor House the yew Will soon be stripped to deck the ledge, The altar, font and arch and pew, So that villagers can say 'The Church looks nice' on Christmas Day. Provincial public houses blaze And Corporation tramcars clang, On lighted tenements I gaze Where paper decorations hang, And bunting in the red Town Hall Says 'Merry Christmas to you all' And London shops on Christmas Eve Are strung with silver bells and flowers As hurrying clerks the City leave To pigeon-haunted classic towers, And marbled clouds go scudding by The many-steepled London sky. And girls in slacks remember Dad, And oafish louts remember Mum, And sleepless children's hearts are glad, And Christmas morning bells say 'Come!' Even to shining ones who dwell Safe in the Dorchester Hotel. And is it true? and is it true? The most tremendous tale of all, Seen in a stained-glass window's hue, A Baby in an ox's stall? The Maker of the stars and sea Become a Child on earth for me? And is it true? For if it is, No loving fingers tying strings Around those tissued fripperies, The sweet and silly Christmas things, Bath salts and inexpensive scent And hideous tie so kindly meant. No love that in a family dwells, No carolling in frosty air, Nor all the steeple-shaking bells Can with this single Truth compare - That God was Man in Palestine And lives to-day in Bread and Wine.

Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbour. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.”~ Mark Twain,
