Hiking is a healthy and completely free outdoor activity involving walking in a natural environment (cross country walking), ideally suited to those in their Third Age and the Over 50s.
Invariably more involved than simply walking – over greater distances and more challenging terrain – Hiking generally involves the use of recognised Hiking Trails, of which there are many throughout the UK and abroad.
Hiking is such an excellent activity for the Over 50s, providing fresh air, exercise, being at one with nature, and interest.
