One of our pet themes here at Third Age is the fact that we Over 50s still have so much living left to do. While out shopping yesterday I bumped into one 50-something who had just bought himself the most beautiful motorhome I’ve ever seen. More about that in a later feature, but meanwhile, another 50-something busy doing something he’s always wanted to do is successful British character actor, Timothy Spall, OBE.
For anyone who has missed his recent 3-part television series ‘Somewhere at Sea’, you missed a rare treat. It’s not too late however. For the next 7 days, you can still catch it here.
Timothy, most famous perhaps for his maiden television appearanced in Auf Wiedersehen, Pet, has been rather ill of late. In 1996 he was diagnosed with acute myelolid leukaema. He promised himself if ever he recovered, he would buy himself a Rolls Royce and a boat. While the Roller kept breaking down, the boat was a success, and it lead him to the purchase of his current craft, a 30ft Dutch barge called The Princess Matilda.
To learn more about how Timothy got on, I can highly recommend his blog: www.spallsatsea.com.
